Scene 38.
I finished writing and editing it. And I went completely overboard. I edited it down as much as I could, but the scene is still about 8900 words long, which is about 4500 words over my initial plan, and 1500 words past my extended goal. But I’m done writing it. I’m keeping that script. It’s going to be a pretty long scene.
I haven’t started cutting it yet, but a scene that long calls for about 300 shots to illustrate it. That will be 5 to 6 weeks of posing. I’ll get to it as soon as I’m done with my other tasks.
The introduction screen.
I mentioned the idea of reworking the introduction screens to show the player all the paths available and that a guided mode is available. Well, I’ve been working on it for the past few days. And I’ve come up with something, but it’s pretty bland and boring. I’m looking for ways to make it more interesting. Maybe some interactions or more interesting visual elements. Maybe some animations. I’m going to investigate this starting next week. If anything interesting comes out of it, I might even use it to rework the main menu screen.
I won’t push it too far, though. I don’t want to waste weeks on that task.
